Surrounding yourself with Portuguese words and sounds and music will be the very best way to learn, trust us. We are looking into courses abroad at the moment, and will soon be able to recommend one or two. Until then, feel free to do your best to immerse yourself where you live, using the following suggestions… for example, use a dictionary to print words like “table”, "door", "window", "kettle", "bed", "chair", "mirror" etc and stick them onto those items around the house. Over time these words will automatically become part of your vocabulary, without even trying to memorize them! You could also in time join some verbs, like eat, open/close, wash, boil, sleep, sit, look, etc so as to associate them with the objects. Try it!

~Using Portuguese Google instead of Google in English is a useful way for advanced learners to practise searching and navigating in the language. ~Learning the lyrics to your favorite songs! For example here is a song called 'Garota de Ipanema' (or more commonly known among English speakers and elevator they sings and notice the proper pronunciation. Sing along if you like, after listening to it for a couple times, here you have the lyrics. Just a note, the song Garota de Ipanema starts about 1 minute into the video clip below.
Olha que coisa mais linda
Mais cheia de graça
É ela menina
Que vem e que passa
Num doce balanço, a caminho do mar
Moça do corpo dourado
Do sol de Ipanema
O seu balançado é mais que um poema
É a coisa mais linda que eu já vi passar
Ah, porque estou tão sozinho
Ah, porque tudo é tão triste
Ah, a beleza que existe
A beleza que não é só minha
E também passa sozinha
Ah, se ela soubesse
Que quando ela passa
O mundo inteirinho se enche de graça
E fica mais lindo
Por causa do amor
