Whether you're teaching yourself the language or need some material to complement your studies, a good exercise book is an essential tool. There are several Vietnamese exercise book courses available, but below we've only recommended those that are really good.

Elementary-Vietnamese: Revised Edition: is a complete college-level language course which uses example from media and culture to introduce the student to the language. The book works best with the complementary 7 audio CD's. These aren't included with the sale of the book, but can be requested directly from the publishers Tuttle. Vietnamese-for-Beginners is a well structured book, ideal for both self study and classroom use. The book works best with the 3 Complementary Audio CDs which have to be purchased separately.
